Confectionary artist & owner of  Soulfully Sweet, Moriah Tate, shares her love for baking through her desserts that are sure to delight your tastebuds and warm your soul. 

Moriah’s love for baking started at a very young age. Instead of building sandcastles, she would make sand cakes—adding the final touches by sprinkling the sand ever so carefully on her sandy cakes. 

As time progressed, her love for baking and cake decorating grew as she studied some of her favorite Food Network stars like Duff from ‘Ace of Cakes’ and Buddy from ‘Cake Boss’. She is always observing the latest cake and dessert trends and perfecting her own craft. 

The love for baking runs in her family. Moriah comes from a long line of outstanding, southern cooks. Two of her great grandmothers, one being a restaurant owner, rarely used a recipe to make many of their dishes. Those delicious meals were always a staple at family gatherings. Continuing their legacy, Moriah started her own baking business- Tate’s Tasty Treats at the young age of 14. With just a few decorating classes at Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics, Moriah entered and won 1st place in her division and Best Overall in the cake decorating contest at the Central Florida Fair. She quickly caught the eye of a popular cake decorator in the Central Florida area. She was featured in the West Orange Times in Winter Garden where she resides.

Moriah is a graduate of the University of Central Florida Rosen School of Hospitality. Hospitality is Moriah’s drive. She receives great satisfaction when her customers are pleased with her confections and decorating skills. The total experience warms her heart that her “works of art” are not just beautiful to the eye, but “touches the soul” from the sweet, delicious taste. Hence, the name change to “Soulfully Sweet.”
